So I was hanging out with a friend the other day, and we started talking about book ideas. She came up with one that would be inspirational. So the plot setting would be in the suburbs of Maryland, with a family including 3 kids, and a middle aged couple. The wife is a stay at home mom and the dad is a philanthropist. One day they are driving to their condo with an animal runs out on the road and they crash. The father and kids die, but the mother lives. Fast forward a year, and she's a bitter widow living on the outskirts of Olympia, Washington. Angry and alone, she refuses to leave the house and paints all day as a coping mechanism, although it isn't working. One night she is visited in a dream by a higher power, and told that if she wants to live anymore, she has to to one good deed to earn her next day of life. Fearing death itself, she obliges. She learns to appreciate life for what it is, and grows into a new person with purpose. She becomes a motivational speaker to tell the world bout her story.
Think it would be good? And what constructive criticism could anyone give?
